Because we matter

I am working on the Captain Gopinath Election campaign because I want Change and want to be rid of this feeling of helplessness with the current political system and an uncaring government. We have to start somewhere to voice our power. It is believed that we cannot fight the corrupt system but we do know that there have been success stories in the past of daring individuals who have won over very strong forces.

The middle class and upper middle class do not come out to vote and that allows those who are bought with votes to decide what the mandate should be and their ignorance does not allow them to look beyond the election promises of money, liquor and gifts. I was out at a slum last week and the demand was for Rs.1000/- for a vote. No words of education helped and I left the place feeling a lot more helpless.

What is the option we have?

All we can do is to reach out to like-minded people who do not need to paid for their vote but will vote for a candidate who they believe can make a difference, someone with the experience of being a leader and making the uncommon happen, a righteous man who understands democracy and a man who can create opportunities and the infrastructure for growth and development. Bangalore South is a large constituency and a change here can create ripples across the city and hopefully this message will spread across India and soon no political party may ever be able to buy a vote.

Yes I have a dream for a better India because I am a proud Indian and some dreams do come true if only we act on them.

This is why I chose Captain Gopinath who will be contesting from the following constituencies:
Govindarajanagar, Vijaynagar, Jayanagar, Basavangudi, Padmanabhanagar, BTM Layout, Chickpet & Bommanahalli of Bangalore South.

Only people power matters

I am on a new mission. I never voted before but now I wish to vote because I want to create change. I am not sure about how much I can do but I am going to try. I found a candidate who shares my vision and mission. I have joined hands to campaign for a better tomorrow if not for us then atleast for our children.

I am working on the campaign. I need volunteers to support me, I need my friends who believe that I will only stand by a good cause.

Captain Gopinath is an honest citizen, a businessman who proved what an ordinary farmer can do and he hates what is happening to our country. I am inspired by his mandate to create harmony without caste, creed or religion. He thinks about the ordinary man and ordinary problems. He is fighting this election with a non-existent budget. But we can prove that the power of people goes beyond what money can buy.

We need to test every politician who weighs our power with money. We have the freedom to voice our demands now. We cannot do it beyond the elections because there may be no one who would listen or understand. If you tell me that nothing is going to change, I can only say that nothing will change if you and me do not try at the least.

If my words, voiced from deep within; spoken out of sheer frustration about the system and written out of desperation to fight for my needs, my city and my country touches you you can hold my hands in this war against helplessness.

Our dreams matter

Captain Gopinath dared to make it possible for every Indian to fly, a dream that came true for many of us Indians.

Now we have a dream to find that politician who cares about our dreams of India.

Reach out to a man who thinks like you rather than someone who tells you how to think.

Vote for one who can make that one difference in your life.

Who needs a party when we are one family with a mission

The residence of Captain Gopinath is now home to a bunch of volunteers, each one pitching in their little bit to work on the campaign. There is no hierarchy and no designations. We are all like members of one big family.

Captain works on a busy agenda but is always available for everyone around; a word of appreciation, a ear for the suggestion, a hand for a visitor but one sees a leader in his every move. He understands team work, delegation and the aim to transform for the better. He knows what he wants but does not dictate and lets the team work towards the aim using their potential.

Volunteers pour in regularly to join the Captain's family not with a personal agenda but with hope that we can make a difference, take a step forward towards security, freedom, and opportunities for all. We care not just about our streets and traffic but also about the needs of the man on the street who knows not how to dream.

Now, this is no more the pursuit of an independent candidate but of a family that is harnessing its energy for a better tomorrow.

Our taxes matter

I want change in my city. I want a politician who can work beyond the polls. I want an educated man with a clear mission. I want my freedom. I have taken a small step by standing by a man who dares to venture into the most corrupt business of politics. He will not spend money to buy a vote. He will not promise us the stars but he has proved himself in the past.

When he created the possibility for a middle-class Indian to fly, I believe he can make it possible for the unfortunate classes to live a better life. He cannot do it alone but he can do it if we join hands because we want to fight the system and not settle for less.

I want more from my taxes and my government. I want to voice my needs to someone who can listen without asking for something in return.

Volunteers matter

A seasoned politician, a politician who gives to buy a vote, stands by corrupt ways, and knows not what the people really want, plays the blame game, adopts religious tactics, works on divide and rule, ensures bribes will continue, fights for the wrong reasons and has the most twisted understanding of democracy will speak now with gusto.

When it is time to act, we will be forced to go back to our old ways and complain about what is not right.

You and me can make it right and show that we do not stand by corruption. Our power is in numbers of people we can mobilize, not funds and gifts.

I am a volunteer. You can be one too and bring in more volunteers.

Mission Matters

Capt Gopinath speaks to IANS: "I am in the fray on behalf of people. I decided to contest after being encouraged and motivated by a cross section of Bangaloreans. Right from my friends in IT and BT world to youths of Bangalore, all have asked me to contest," he said.

"I am fighting to win and bring change to society. I am not for any party. Otherwise I would have joined some known political party. I am joining politics to bring good governance and social harmony," he said.

"I am against the current crop of political parties who grease people's palm and distribute liquor to get votes. I will involve volunteers and garner people's support to win," he added.

"I want to bring prosperity to rural population also and bring equitable progress for one and all," he said.

Bangalore South is among the 17 of the 28 constituencies in the state which will vote in the first phase April 23 where Capt. Gopinath seeks your vote.

If you have a mission just like our Captain then make sure you cast your vote where it matters.

Your Vote Matters

I never voted before because I did not think there was a candidate who could understand what I need. I did not vote and complained that no one cared. I love my country and my city but I did not care about who took care of it.

My vote matters and so does yours. I found the candidate who dreams of an India just like me.
Captain Gopinath cares and he has taken a step to reach out to our cares

Do you care? Are you going to vote? Who are you going to vote for? Get to know your candidate.

Your vote matters to your constituency, your city, and your country.

Vote for a better India.
